Non-Places

A thematic body of photography work, centred on the concept of non-places.

My definition of the non-place both challenges and explores Marc Auge’s work and Tim Cresswell’s literature on the topic. If place is everywhere how does it become no more? The non-place, in accordance with my exploration I have found to be a space that has little to no human interaction. It can be a space that was once considered a place but is now abandoned or derelict. Alternatively, it can be a space such as a construction site that will soon become a place by process of transformation.
